Sabina, Garnacha, Navarra, Spain (bottle price £10)
Navarra is a large wine-growing region just northeast of Rioja. This means that the growing conditions are very similar and because it doesn’t have the reputation of Rioja there are bargains to be found.
Garnacha (or Grenache in France) is a grape that thrives in hotter conditions and gives a wine that is deep in colour but and full of red fruit but not overly tannic. In certain places such as Priorat it is responsible for some of the greatest wines in the world. We believe that this is a cracking expression of the grape.
