Agoreira, Godello, Spain (bottle price £17)
The Valdeorras wine growing region in North West Spain has a drier climate than the rest of Galicia. Located between 300m and 700m altitude the Godello grape thrives in these drier conditions.
Godello is a grape that often plays second fiddle to it's partner in crime Albarino. Admittedly it's a grape we have been indifferent about but this wine really does show its true potential.
Adegas Terrae have crafted a wine using their best Godello vines. It's super citrusy with a definitive lemon edge but most importantly it is a supremely balanced wine that just works in the sun! If you like fresher whites then this will suit you down the the soil!
